On Monday, during the awards ceremony in Warsaw, Polish Employers awarded companies that pursue the highest standards of corporate social responsibility. The awards were granted in 7 different categories. Volkswagen Poznan won the general category.
Enterprises participating in the competition had to answer questions concerning the most important areas of corporate social responsibility and sign the declaration concerning compliance with the Code of Corporate Responsibility.
The Jury, in collaboration with a Group of Specialists assessed whether a given company's daily activities are compliant with the Code of Corporate Responsibility. The Jury analysed good practices implemented by companies within the areas of key importance such as environmental care, employment conditions, relationships with the local community or promotion of the economic and social development of regions in which they conduct their business activities.
The award from the vice-president of Polish Employers, Andrzej Jacaszek, was accepted on behalf of the company by Monika Hajbowicz, the Head of Communications at Volkswagen Poznan.
The award confirms that actions taken by the company and based on standards of corporate social responsibility are desirable and properly implemented. The company that employees over 6800 employees constitutes an important link between social and economic aspects of a region and its responsibility concerns not only the employees but also the immediate environment.
“Responsible Business Leaders” competition is carried out within a framework of the “Coalition for Responsible Business” project which constitutes a joint initiative of Polish Employers and six partner companies. PwC is the subject matter partner for the event. The undertaking is co-financed by the European Union under the European Social Fund. This year the competition was carried out for the second time.
