Sales of Volkswagen commercial vehicles in South America has increased by 8.3 per cent and the number of vehicles sold totalled 160,400 (2012: 148,100). 123,900 cars were sold in Brazil (2012: 113,600; + 9.1 per cent) and 24,200 in Argentina (2012: 20,100; + 20.5 per cent). On the Mexican market, belonging to the North American region, the brand sold 24.5 per cent more cars totalling 9,850 units (2012: 7,900).
In Africa the company sold 20,140 commercial vehicles (2012: 19,500; + 3.5 per cent). In Africa the company sold 20,140 commercial vehicles (2012: 18,950; + 6.4 per cent), and in the Middle East sales dropped by 9.4 per cent in 2013 and the number of sold units equalled 26,900 (2012: 29,700).
In Europe, Volkswagen sold 314,400 light commercial vehicles of models T5, Caddy, Amarok and Crafter (2012: 325,900; - 3.5 per cent), with Western European customers (excluding German customers) buying 159,400 cars (2012: 161,100; -1.1 per cent). German customers bought 114,800 vehicles (2012: 123,100; - 6.7 per cent). In Eastern Europe Volkswagen sold 40,250 commercial vehicles (2012: 41,670; - 3.4 per cent).
5,104 Volkswagen commercial vehicles were registered in Poland in 2013, which is 3.86 per cent less than in 2012 (5,309 units). The company achieved a market share of 10.80 per cent. The most popular vehicle was Caddy (2,228 units), which is manufactured in Poznan. The company registered sales of 1,520 T5s, 786 Crafters and 570 Amaroks.
