The international jury of the most prestigious European competition “International Van of the Year” today visited the Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles' Hannover IAA stand (Hall 12). Yesterday, jurors from 24 European countries chaired by Jarlath Sweeney elected the Crafter as best transport van of the year for 2017.

The delegation was received by Dr Eckhard Scholz, Chairman of the Brand Board of Management of Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles: “We are delighted to welcome you here at our stand and to be able to present our new varied products, in particular the e-Crafter featured here at the fair for the first time.” He was also proud of the “International Van of the Year 2017” award that the new Crafter received yesterday. “We will be using this award to spearhead a successful launch.”

Jury chairman Jarlath Sweeney: “The jury felt the Crafter thoroughly deserved to win 1st place. The vehicle is specifically designed to meet customer requirements. This sets it apart from the rest.”

The jury also gained an overview of some 100 different automotive customer solutions that will be exhibited on Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles' 7,400 square metre stand and 1,350 square metre outdoor area.
