120 kg garbage per hour

10 October 2012

The first stage of "Clean Up the World” initiative by Volkswagen Poznan and Panopa Logistik has been completed. The next one is still ahead of us!

On the last Saturday of September, employees of Volkswagen Poznan and the largest logistics supplier joined the "Clean Up the World” initiative. They managed to collect 240 kg of garbage which were sorted and recycled. The biggest pieces of garbage found were used tires and a sofa.
The cleaning initiatives are organized on the assumption that "more often means shorter" - employees are volunteering as it is easier to encourage people to participate for two hours every two weeks than eight hours once a year. Besides, it is the systematics that counts here - says Monika Hajbowicz, the Head of Communications at Volkswagen Poznan who participates in the initiative.
Next cleaning is planned to take place on October 12, 2012, between 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. The meeting place is the Main Gate at ul. Smołdzinowska. All participants will receive a warm meal, bags, and gloves.
