Special vehicle body plant
The main task of the Volkswagen Poznan Special Vehicle Body Plant is adjustment of base cars to individual needs of customers. Often, standard production equipment is insufficient for our customers. That is why, inorder to meet their requirements it is necessary to upgrade a basic car with a special vehicle body. At the request of a customer the Plant develops constructions and manufactures specialised cars based on Caddy, Caddy Maxi and Transporter T6.
Our customers include individual and collective customers as well as post, police and army.
First special vehicle bodies, based on Transporter T4, were manufactured in the Poznan Plant already in 1996. A significant milestone in the life of the Special Vehicle Body Plant was the launch of a serial production of Caddy and T5 in Poznan in 2003. Since then we could take advantage of availability of base cars and construct special vehicle bodies adjusted to individual needs of customers. These were the beginnings of Caddy for German post, Tramper, Caddy fuelled with CNG gas and many others. On special occasions we construct vehicle bodies for presentation purposes. These vehicle bodies are not for sale but give us a great opportunity to test our possibilities and give free rein to our imagination.
Currently, our production is located in the Swarzedz Plant. We have almost 5 thousand square metres of production area with state-of-the-art workplaces at our disposal. If you would like to learn more about the possibilities of our plant, you are warmly invited to come and see sample vehicle bodies based on Caddy, Caddy Maxi and Transporter T6. A car with a special body can be ordered via VW dealer or importer in a given country.
